We had only planned to spend a couple of days in Key West but because of the Conch Republic Celebration and other distractions we found ourselves in town several more days. Here are a few of the sights:

We also had a trip planned to the Dry Tortougas National Park which is a 70 mile boat ride from Key West. But, when we arrived at the dock, the Captain informed us that there would be 6-8 ft. seas, 30 mph winds and rain expected all day on the island. The boat was still going but fortunately he gave us the option of getting our very expensive tickets refunded. We were disappointed since it was one of our main goals on our visit in the Keys but we were relieved to not have spent a lot of money to have a miserable (potentially pukey) day. We will add that to our list of things to do (in addition to snorkeling) on our next trip back.
