Farewell Alaska!

It’s hard to believe 2 months in Alaska are now over. In some ways our arrival seemed like yesterday and in some ways we feel like we’ve lived here forever. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive and I would like to take a moment to thank all of the people who contributed to our wonderful experience.

THANKS TO:

Mel and AnneMarie who guided us through Alaska even as far back as Nashville, to Art who went out of his way for total strangers, to Rick who helped us fix our inverter and shared his tasty halibut, to Janine for her travel tips and suggestions and sharing a dinner with us, to Bethany, Patrick, Rowan, Jonah and Charlie for their friendship and taking us into their home, to Captain Chris for taking the time to let the Dudes “take the wheel”, to John who unselfishly shared his knowledge of Denali even though he didn’t have to, to Daniel, Kathleen and Brynn for a wonderful evening and a fun day, to Anders for introducing us to an important part of Alaska, to Jim for lightening our load, to Ranger Karen who encouraged  us go the “extra mile”, to Don and Vickie for reminding us just how small the world is, to Diane, Brooks, Ian, Finn and Eli for sharing their “winter stores” and making new memories with us, to Phillip and Anja who made our last night in Alaska great fun and, to the many other travelers we shared a story or a campfire with.

It’s not just the place that makes your experience while traveling but also, the people.

 THANKS!…………..W’ell be back.
