We have a new look! Thanks to lots and lots and lots of help from Amanda at foreverpix.com.
I would like to celebrate our new look with a special piece of poetry. Now, I just felt many of you cringe at the word poetry but, hang on, it’ll be worth it.
The Lil’ Dude’s brain seems to turn with the wheels of the car. There may be something about the immobility of being strapped into a car seat that leaves all of his energy with no place to go but his brain, a kind of of Stephen Hawking effect.
The commute from school is only 20 minutes but, gazing out the window on this monotonous daily drive seems to be long enough to produce this effect. At the age of 4, his “commuter’s inspiration” was at an all time high. Out came things like: “Mommy, what is the end of all the numbers?”, “Do fish cry?” and “Fake kisses have no hugs in them”. I began keeping a notepad and pencil on the dashboard so I could “learn” a few things and not miss others. I was glad to have my notepad handy when he dictated his first piece of poetry from his car seat. And, it is this piece of poetry that I would like to share:
I will put a special kiss on you
I will put a special hug on you
I will put a special love on you that lasts forever,
It’s permanent…………like markers.
Kaden, Age 4
May we all learn to use permanent markers.
